City Guide // Bezalel Academy (third year)
270*375 mm
For this project, we were asked to create a city guide to one of Israel’s 4 big cities.
The assignment included developing an idea for our guide, collecting information and images,
choosing our format and lastly: designing the guide from scratch.
My guide “Sixty two-Sixty seven” is suited for Tel-Aviv’s pensioners,
The guide’s name references the age of retirement in Israel (62 for women, 67 for men).
Retirement leaves most pensioners without a steady social framework, and with a lot of free time
on their hands. My guide’s purpose is to provide information about the city’s different attractions
in categories such as art, trips and lectures.
Each section of the guide refers to the question “With whom will you go to the activity?”:
“Begapi” (on my own), “Bezemed” (as a duo), “Betzavta” (as a group) and finally
“Eim HaNehadim” (with my grandkids).
The sections include suggestions for the given week's city attractions, magazine pieces
and recommendations. All suggestions are written exclusively by Tel Aviv’s pensioners.
Each suggestion is colour coordinated according to its price, and recommendations are marked with a star.
The top of each page contains the name of the section, a map legend for the different colours
and some details about the pensioner who wrote the article/recommendation.
